Terms and Conditions:

Client = the individual being coached

Coach = Dr Leona Black

 

Coaching sessions

If the coaching sessions are being paid for by an organisation – the organisation has paid the coach the fees set out in this agreement prior to any sessions commencing.

If the coaching sessions are being paid for by an individual – the individual has paid the coach the fees set out in this agreement prior to any sessions commencing.

  1. The client comes willingly, understands what coaching is, has read my website, is aware of the privacy policy and confidentiality and is ready to make changes in their lives.

  2. If the client is a part of an organisation who is paying for this service, the organisation supports them wholly to have the time to meet for sessions, the client is aware of what coaching is, is willing to be coached, is willing to make changes in the sessions, has seen my website and understands confidentiality.

  3. The client agrees to meet with the coach at the agreed times. If the client is late, the session will still complete at the scheduled time which will mean the session is shorter.

  4. The client and coach will find a quiet space where we will not be disturbed for the sessions.

  5. Coaching sessions will be held virtually – the coach will send out the link prior to the session.

  6. All session timing will be agreed and scheduled in advance of the sessions.

  7. Each session will be up to 60 minutes long.

  8. The client agrees to providing at least 48 hours’ notice of any cancellations or time changes. The client will be charged for missed sessions which are not rescheduled in accordance with this agreement, except in exceptional circumstances and at the coach’s discretion.

  9. The client enters into this agreement with the full understanding that the client is solely responsible for creating the client’s own results. The client understands that achieving the client’s goals (in whole or in part) cannot be guaranteed and no warranties are given.

  10. The client is aware that coaching is not any form of therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis or any other form of mental healthcare treatment, nor is it to be used as a substitute for professional advice by legal, medical commerce financial, business or other qualified professionals.

  11. If it is appropriate, the client will seek independent professional guidance in the areas indicated above and the client understand that all decisions and actions in these areas are the client’s sole responsibility.

  12. The coaching session agenda belongs to the client. If the session is not heading in the direction the client would like, if the coach ever says anything the client don't feel comfortable with or if the client has a concern with the way the sessions are proceeding, the client will let the coach know immediately.

Ethics and confidentiality

  1. The coach is a member of the association of coaching and follows the coaching ethics supplied in the welcome pack. Please refer to https://www.associationforcoaching.com/general/custom.asp?page=AboutCodeEthics for more information.

  2. Any handwritten notes that the coach makes during the sessions will be typed up and kept in an encrypted file to ensure their safety and confidentiality. Handwritten notes will be destroyed at the end of the engagement with the client but typed notes / contracts / questionnaires will be kept as per my GDPR guidelines.

  3. The coach will not use or disclose the information the client shares with them during the client’s sessions except as authorised by the client or as required by law or the client are engaged in illegal activity, a danger to the client or others.

  4. The client understands that on occasion the coach may share anonymously generalised information for training or consultation purposes with other coaching professionals. Information may also be used anonymously during supervision, an important part of the coach’s professional development and ethics.

Termination

  1. The organisation or client and the coach may cancel this agreement in writing by e-mail or by letter giving at least seven working days’ notice. In the event that the client owes money to the coach at the time of cancellation, full payment will become due at the time of cancellation. Any payment made as part of the client’s coaching package will not be refunded.

  2. If an organisation has purchased more than one package, and wishes to terminate the engagement, refunds for full unused packages will be reimbursed. However refunds for partly used packages will not be refunded, unless there is a significant concern about the coach’s practice that is raised.

  3. If this agreement is cancelled by the coach before all the sessions have been completed and that the client has paid for, the coach will refund the client at the hourly rate, given the number of hours remaining.

  4. Upon termination of this agreement, the coach shall immediately cease to be liable to the client in respect of any future coaching sessions.

General

  1. In the event of the client feeling mental, physical or emotional distress or related ailments or conditions which they believe to be related either directly or indirectly to the coaching sessions, the client will not hold the coach liable for any loss or cost incurred or to any person related to the client. The client will indemnify the coach in the event of such a claim.

  2. Except as expressly set out in this agreement the coach will have no liability to the client. This agreement reflects the entire agreement and understanding between the client and the coach regarding the matters in this agreement.

Disclaimer

Coaching does not diagnose, prescribe, treat or cure any disease or condition either physical or mental. Coaching should not be construed as a prescription, a promise of benefits, claims of cures or a guarantee of results to be achieved. Any information, instruction or advice given is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical or psychological diagnosis and care. You should not discontinue or modify any medication and / or treatment presently being taken without obtaining approval from your healthcare professional. Always consult your healthcare professional before making any changes to your diet, lifestyle or prescription drugs.
